TSTA Student Program

Here's how to join the TSTA-Student Program

You can be part of TSTA-Student Program, TSTA's affiliate for college and university students who are planning to teach! Here's how:

Our state convention: great speakers and a rally!

The TSTA-Student Program held its annual convention and House of Delegates at the Omni Southpark in Austin March 23-25. More than 100 students from across the state gathered for informative professional development sessions, election of new officers, an awards banquet, and leadership training. Speakers included TSTA President Rita Haecker and NEA-Student Program Chairperson, Tommie Leaders. Danielle Thorp was re-elected president; Eric Phelan was elected vice-president; and Lisa Benson was re-elected secretary.  On Saturday, students joined TSTA and TSTA-Retired members at the Save Texas Schools rally at the state Capitol, where they called for lawmakers to "Stop the Cuts Now!"

NEA Student Leadership Conference

The NEA Student Leadership Conference will be in Washington, D.C., June 27-30, 2012. Visit http://www.nea.org/home/1600.htm for more about the national program for students.
